CNN couldn’t tolerate Attorney General Jeff Sessions exposing the hypocrisy of many on the left who have criticized the Trump administration’s immigration policies. And so the network took to trashing Sessions for his remarks of yesterday, in which he pointed out that many of the critics:

“live in gated communities where you have to have an ID to even come in . . . And if you try to scale the fence, believe me, they’ll be only too happy to have you arrested and separated from your children.”

Co-host John Berman: “wow: he seemed to think it was funny, the Attorney General.”

CNN’s John Avlon upped the ante:

“A badly-delivered speech whose sentiment was even worse. You’re trying to play the limousine-liberal card, and mocking people who are concerned about the separation of children from their families. That is just so far beneath what would we should expect from our Attorney General.”

The reality is that many on the left live comfortable lives, far from the harsh realities that many Americans have to bear as a result of uncontrolled immigration. Sessions was entirely within his rights to point that out, just as it is fair to report that David Hogg is apparently being protected by armed guards.
