Say, maybe President Trump’s powers are even greater than anyone imagined . . .
On this evening’s Hardball, Chris Matthews asked Yamiche Alcindor, a New York Times reporter, whom Trump actually listens to. She responded:
“Who he actually pays attention to are all the people he calls up on the phone: Roger Ailes. All these other people that are just kind of out in the world: Steve Bannon.”
Ailes died over six months ago, in May 2017.
Trying to cover for Alcindor, Matthews interjected: “years ago–Roger Ailes.”
Note: there was one White House resident who did claim to be able to speak with people beyond the grave: Hillary Clinton. As First Lady, she famously conducted conversations with Eleanor Roosevelt, among others.
Note segundo: After Matthews came to her rescue, Alcindor seemed to realize her error, enjoying a good laugh.
